An academy for both spas and individual massage and beauty therapists to add to their skill set, founded by Kayleigh Purser. Based in Cheltenham Spa town centre.

The aim of the academy is to provide therapists with workshops and full training courses so that they may continue their professional development, knowing that they will receive high quality training.

We want to see therapists enjoying a long and healthy career and so our main goal is to offer training that will support the health, wellness and business development of massage therapists which is why we are the first academy to offer the Purser Method of deep tissue / zero strain massage training.

About Sapphire Spa Academy

Director – Kayleigh Purser

Sapphire Spa Academy is part of the Sapphire Spa Solutions Group which was founded by Kayleigh Purser in 2018.

The WHY of the business is all about supporting therapists to have a longer, more fulfilling career within the spa industry. With that ethos in mind, Kayleigh opened Sapphire Spa Academy in 2022 to further support therapists and spas.

Kayleigh originally trained in Holistic and Massage Therapy in 2004 at the renowned Cotswolds Academy of Complementary Therapies. Her main focus has always been on pain management and rehabilitation but after a car crash in 2013 Kayleigh began to realise that the impact that massage therapy has on the therapist does not lend itself to a sustainable career. With damage to her thumbs, wrists and back, Kayleigh had to devise a way of continuing to offer her treatments without causing herself any further damage. After years of extra training, personal and professional development and running case studies, Kayleigh not only managed to create a methodology of deep tissue massage that did not cause any further damage but that also promoted the health and wellbeing of the therapist.

The Purser Method was patented in 2020 and in 2022 Sapphire Spa Academy was opened with The Purser Method as its main training focus.
